Mechanical adiabaticity

deutsch

Mechanical adiabaticity is the physical concept to describe Tomlinson's mechanism in a more condensed way.

A coordinate x follows the motion of a coordinate X adiabatically if the motion of x is given by a sequence of stable positions, without any change from stable to unstable positions.
